Our Mission

Global Street Connect is passionately committed to enhancing the lives of marginalised children across Asia. Through cutting-edge research and innovative, evidence-based initiatives, we strive to ensure equal access to education, health and social care.

Concurrently, we advocate for inclusive legislation and the adoption of global best practices.

Our unwavering goal is to empower and enable all children to realise their full potential, thereby breaking the vicious cycle of poverty and exclusion. This research-driven impact, combined with sustained community support, is the driving force behind our mission.

Objectives

Conduct thorough interdisciplinary research on child welfare: Carry out extensive studies across various fields – such as education, health, disability, and socioeconomic factors – to identify key needs, gaps, and trends affecting marginalised and vulnerable children in Asia.

Create and Implement Evidence-Based Programmes: Utilise research findings to develop innovative, customised programmes that directly address the specific needs of marginalised children, while ensuring ongoing evaluation and improvement of service delivery.

Share Research Findings to Promote Change: Distribute research findings through accessible formats and platforms, including peer-reviewed journals, reports, and community briefings, to influence policymakers, NGOs, and other stakeholders on best practices and vital reforms.

Foster Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Building: Organise workshops, conferences, and training sessions for educators, healthcare, and social care professionals to disseminate the latest research findings and improve their ability to effectively support marginalised children.

Develop Culturally and religiously Responsive Health Interventions: Design physical and mental health programmes based on research that address the cultural, religious, social, and psychological challenges faced by marginalised children, with a focus on trauma, disability, and wellbeing.

Establish a Child-Centred Innovation Research Centre: Create a dedicated research hub that partners with universities, non-governmental organisations, and governments to lead innovative studies and solutions designed to enhance the lives of marginalised children across Asia.

Advocate for Inclusive Policy Development: Collaborate with governments and international organisations to turn research findings into effective policies that improve the rights and well-being of Asia’s marginalised children.

Conduct Action Research for Service Improvement: Use action research methods to regularly analyse and develop the organisation’s services, ensuring they are effective, relevant, and responsive to the changing needs of children.

Promote Cross-Sector Partnerships: Work together with governments, international organisations, universities, and the business sector to develop and expand evidence-based interventions that aid marginalised children.

Enhance Early Childhood Development Initiatives: Develop early childhood interventions based on research into key developmental stages, ensuring that marginalised children can access nutrition, healthcare, and early education.

Promote children’s participation in research: Make sure children’s voices are heard in studies, enabling them to actively engage in investigations that affect their lives, empowering them and offering insights to help develop relevant programmes.

Establish a Knowledge Hub for Marginalised Children: Build and sustain a global repository of research, case studies, and best practices relevant to the wellbeing of marginalised children, serving as a resource for practitioners and policymakers.
