Research-driven change for street-connected children
Evidence first. Dignity always. We work across Asia to break the cycle of poverty and exclusion, one study, one programme, one child at a time.
Global Street Connect is committed to transforming the lives of marginalised children across Asia. Through rigorous, evidence-based research and innovative programmes, we work to secure every child’s equal access to education, health, and social care.
We advocate for inclusive legislation and champion global best practices — partnering with governments, institutions, and communities to turn evidence into lasting change.
Our goal is simple to state and hard-won in practice: empower every child to reach their full potential, breaking the cycle of poverty and exclusion. Research-driven impact, paired with sustained community support, is what drives everything we do.
Objectives
Eleven commitments that turn research into protection, policy, and opportunity for marginalised children.
Conduct Interdisciplinary Research on Child Welfare
Carry out extensive studies across education, health, disability, and socioeconomic factors to identify the needs, gaps, and trends affecting marginalised and vulnerable children in Asia.
Create and Implement Evidence-Based Programmes
Turn research findings into tailored programmes that address children’s specific needs, with ongoing evaluation to improve service delivery.
Share Research to Drive Change
Distribute findings through peer-reviewed journals, reports, and community briefings to influence policymakers, NGOs, and other stakeholders on best practice and reform.
Build Knowledge and Capacity
Deliver workshops, conferences, and training for educators, healthcare, and social care professionals to spread the latest research and strengthen their ability to support marginalised children.
Develop Culturally and Religiously Responsive Health Interventions
Design physical and mental health programmes, grounded in research, that address the cultural, religious, social, and psychological realities of marginalised children — with particular attention to trauma, disability, and wellbeing.
Establish a Child-Centred Innovation Research Centre
Build a dedicated research hub with universities, NGOs, and governments to lead new studies and solutions that improve children’s lives across Asia.
Advocate for Inclusive Policy
Work with governments and international organisations to convert research into policies that advance the rights and wellbeing of Asia’s marginalised children.
Use Action Research to Improve Services
Continuously analyse and refine our own services so they stay effective, relevant, and responsive to children’s changing needs.
Promote Cross-Sector Partnerships
Collaborate with governments, international organisations, universities, and business to develop and scale evidence-based interventions.
Strengthen Early Childhood Development
Design early interventions, grounded in developmental research, that give marginalised children access to nutrition, healthcare, and early education.
Involve Children in Research
Ensure children’s voices are heard in the studies that affect their lives, empowering them and shaping more relevant programmes.
